Abir
Abir Tarbichi’s journey from parent volunteer to Programs Assistant reflects the strong community foundation of DAVA. After more than a decade supporting classrooms and learning hands-on creative activities alongside DAVA teaching artists, she now helps create welcoming environments for young learners and families. Her care, patience, and lived experience strengthen DAVA’s commitment to inclusive, family-centered programming.
Programs Assistant
Abir Tarbichi was born in Syria and began her career as a registered nurse. After moving to the United States, she continued her education by studying English and earning a phlebotomy certificate. As a parent of two daughters, Abir became deeply involved in their early education, volunteering in their schools and supporting classroom learning.
When her children joined DAVA in 2010 at the age of three, Abir became a dedicated volunteer. Over many years, she learned a wide range of hands-on creative projects from DAVA educators, including Luzia Ornelas, Viviane Le Courtois, and others. Through this experience, she developed a strong passion for arts education and supporting young learners.
In 2023, Abir joined DAVA as a Programs Assistant. She brings warmth, patience, and creativity to every classroom and helps create a welcoming environment where children and families feel comfortable exploring the arts together.
