Our DAVA teaching artists, a few of our local artist friends, and some volunteers are hitting the district with our art supplies to teach YOU how you can make some really cool art in some innovative ways. We will be joining Megan Morgan at the People’s Building to participate in the Human Tapestry project. (Read more below.)
Everyone should start the crawl at the People’s Building. Here you can purchase a PRINT CRAWL PASSPORT that will get you access to 6 additional venues in the ACAD that will have different types of printmaking techniques. Individual prints can be purchased at each venue for $5-10 each. Passports available for purchase at each venue. There is no charge for printmaking at The People’s Building. Passports can be pre-purchased. Link for purchase to be provided soon.

Human Tapestry is a free, hands-on art demo where anyone can stop by and try printmaking without a press, no experience needed. Using gel plates and nontoxic inks, participants cut out a human shape, ink a plate, and make a print. Each figure is added to a large shared piece of fabric, slowly building one community artwork made by many different hands. Visitors can come and go at their own pace and take part for just a few minutes or stay longer.
This activity is open to all ages and focuses on curiosity and trying something new, not perfection. Kids, adults, and families are welcome to experiment together.
Check back here for more information.
