Job Training in Studio Arts - Teaching Artist
Sheila Mungai is a Kenyan-born bi-continental multimedia artist with a focus on ceramics. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2019.
Her multicultural experience, shaped by her childhood and early adulthood in Kenya and later life in the United States, informs her artistic practice. Through clay and other mediums, she explores social issues and interactions, with a strong emphasis on identity.
Sheila brings this passion, versatility, and dynamism into the classroom, where she works with students ages 14 and up. She supports learners across a range of skill levels, with a particular focus on beginners. Sheila enjoys guiding students through the process of discovery to actualization, encouraging both technical growth and self-discovery through craft.
